Ganesh Karnik was born in the little town of Kervashi in Karkala Taluk of Udupi District. Having had his basic education in Karkala, he obtained his Degree in 1981 from Agricultural University Dharwad. After successfully clearing the written examination and interview, joined the Indian army and served as a commissioned officer along North, East and Western Boarder of our country and voluntarily retired from the service as Captain (1981- 88) and retired as Captain. To him his life in the army was a wonderful exposure and a rich experience that has helped him build his outlook to life.
